Synopsis

In 1950s Malaysia, a European merchant becomes obsessed with finding treasure to secure his daughter’s future. His dreams crumble under the dual pressures of his own greed that turns into torment, and the oppressive English domination the country is experiencing – leading the remote village he lives in to fall into ruin.
