Synopsis

The film “Panjab Files “delves into the history of pre-1947 Punjab, shedding light on the sacrifices made by Punjabis in their fight for freedom—not just from colonial rule, but also in their efforts to liberate gurdwaras from British control. The story highlights the resilience and determination of the Punjabi people, who organized peaceful protests and achieved their goals through unwavering perseverance. The film also recounts the poignant events of the Saka Panja Sahib, where acts of selfless service led to martyrdom. In one tragic incident, retired soldiers traveling by train became the focus of a heartfelt attempt by Punjabi locals to serve langar. However, the authorities refused to stop the train, resulting in a heartbreaking confrontation where lives were lost, and many were injured in their mission to uphold the spirit of service.
